All fundamental fermions fit inside one su(1|5) irreducible representation
نویسنده
چکیده
The Lie superalgebra su(1|5) has irreducible representations of dimension 32, in which the 32 fundamental fermions of one generation (leptons and quarks, of left and right chirality, and their antiparticles) can be accommodated. The branching of these su(1|5) representations with respect to its subalgebra su(3)× su(2)×u(1) reproduces precisely the classification of these fundamental fermions according to the gauge group su(3) × su(2) × u(1) of the Standard Model. Furthermore, a simple construction of the relevant representations is given, and some consequences are discussed. PACS: 02.20.+b, 11.30.-j, 12.10.-g.

Group-Theoretic Evidence for SO(10) Grand Unification
The hypercharges of the fermions are not uniquely determined in SO(10) grand unification, but rather depend upon which linear combination of the two U(1) subgroups of SO(10)⊃ SU(3)×SU(2)×U(1)×U(1) remains unbroken. We show that, in general, a given hypercharge assignment can be obtained only with very high-dimensional Higgs representations. The observation that the standard model is obtained wi...

abstract Recently it has been suggested by A. M. Tsvelik that quantum S=1/2 an-tiferromagnet can be described by the Majorana fermions in an irreducible way and without any constraint. In contrast to this claim we shall show that this representation is highly reducible. It is a direct sum of four irreducible fundamental representations of su(2) algebra.

207 Admiral Lane, Greer, SC 29650 U.S.A. 1 Abstract We study more extensively and completely for global gauge anomalies with some semisimple gauge groups as initiated in ref.1. A detailed and complete proof or derivation is provided for the Z2 global (nonperturbative) gauge anomaly given in ref.1 for a gauge theory with the semisimple gauge group SU(2)× SU(2)× SU(2) in D = 4 dimensions and Weyl...
متن کاملAnomalous Generation Numbers in SO(10) and Supersymmetric SO(10) Unification Theories
One of the interesting features in unification models and supersymmetric unification models is that the chiral states of quarks and leptons in a family including a right-handed neutrino can be fitted neatly into a fundamental spinor representation (f.s) of dimension 16 for the SO(10) gauge group. However, it is shown in this paper that such a fundamental spinor representation of SO(10) for Weyl...
متن کاملAn Introduction to Generalized Yang-Mills Theories
In generalized Yang-Mills theories scalar fields can be gauged just as vector fields in a usual Yang-Mills theory, albeit it is done in the spinorial representation. The presentation of these theories is aesthetic in the following sense: A physical theory using Yang-Mills theories requires several terms and irreducible representations, but with generalized Yang-Mills theories, only two terms an...
